Shymbulak
Shymbulak, officially Shymbulak Ski Resort, is a major winter sports destination in Kazakhstan. It is located in the Zailiysky Alatau mountains, in the Medeu valley just east of Almaty. The resort sits at high elevations above the city and is accessible by road from Almaty as well as by cable car and gondola systems originating in the Medeu area. It is widely regarded as the largest and most developed ski area in Central Asia.
