Shoeybi

Shoeybi (Persian: شعيبي, romanized: Sho‘eybī; also known as Shuei Biy and Shūī) is a village in the southwestern part of Iran. It lies within the Alborz Rural District, which is administratively a subdivision of the Qazvini district of Gilan Province. The village is situated at an elevation of approximately 110 metres above sea level and enjoys a temperate climate with wet winters and hot, dry summers typical of the region.

According to the 2006 national census, Shoeybi had a population of 231 people residing in 57 families. By the 2011 census, the population had increased modestly to 267 residents, reflecting a steady growth trend that is in line with other rural settlements in the province. The majority of the inhabitants are engaged in small-scale agriculture and livestock rearing, with rice cultivation and poultry farming being the principal economic activities.

Shoeybi is connected by a network of local roads that link it to the provincial capital of Rasht and to neighboring villages such as Taleqan and Sarab. Public services in the village include a primary school, a health outpost, and a community cultural center that hosts traditional music and dance gatherings, particularly during the Farsang festival. The literacy rate among residents is relatively high, largely due to the village’s proximity to educational facilities in the nearby towns. The local community continues to maintain a strong sense of cultural heritage while gradually adopting modern amenities.
