Shadhiliyya
Shadhiliyya, also known as the Shadhiliyyah, is one of the major Sufi orders (tariqas) within Islam. It is named after Abu l-Hasan ash-Shadhili (c. 1196–1258), a prominent Islamic scholar who founded the order in the 13th century in the Maghreb region and later established a presence in Egypt. Over time it became one of the most influential Sufi lineages in North Africa and the broader Muslim world, developing many branches and lineages that spread beyond its origins.
