Seewoosagur
Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, commonly known as SSR, was a Mauritian statesman who played a central role in Mauritius’s movement toward independence and its early post-independence development. Born on 11 October 1905, he emerged as a leading figure of the Mauritian Labour Party and led efforts toward self-government during the 1960s.
