Seabank

Seabank is a coastal town and port located on the eastern seaboard of the fictional state of Northmere in the country of Marinia. It sits at the mouth of the River Alder and has a sheltered harbor that has shaped its development. The town's estimated population is around 24,000, and its economy combines fishing, marine services, and tourism.

Seabank originated in the Middle Ages around a natural harbor and defensive ditches. A stone breakwater was added in the 19th century, followed by a railway line that connected the town to regional markets. In the late 20th century Seabank diversified into services and hospitality, preserving historic infrastructure while expanding waterfront facilities.

Fisheries remain a core activity, supported by the harbor and ship repair yards. The Seabank Dockyard provides maintenance for commercial and leisure vessels, while the marina and yacht clubs attract visiting boats. Tourism centers on the waterfront promenade, seafood dining, and nearby nature reserves.

Seabank experiences a temperate maritime climate, with mild, wet winters and cool summers. The coastline combines rocky shores, sandy coves, and a long seawall that protects the harbor.

Administratively, Seabank is part of the Seabord District and governed by a town council. Transportation includes an inland rail station on the coast line, a network of coastal roads, and regular ferries to nearby islands. The port handles both domestic and regional cargo.

Notable sites include Seabank Lighthouse, the historic Fish Market, and the Maritime Museum. The annual Seabank Regatta and Seafood Festival draw visitors from across the region.
