Schutzanzüge, also known as protective suits, are garments designed to shield the wearer from hazardous environments or substances. Their primary function is to create a barrier between the individual and potential dangers, such as chemicals, biological agents, radiation, extreme temperatures, or physical hazards. The design and materials of a Schutzanzug vary significantly depending on the specific risks it is intended to mitigate.

For chemical protection, suits are often made from impermeable materials like PVC, neoprene, or specialized laminates that resist penetration by corrosive or toxic substances.
