It is applied to a range of fabrics and surfaces, including those produced with a true satin weave on silk, polyester, cotton blends, or other fibers, as well as fabrics that are given a satin-like finish through finishing processes. The exact gloss and hand depend on the fiber content and construction, so satininen fabrics can vary from very high luster to more subdued sheens.
