STAT1 and STAT6 are members of the STAT (signal transducer and activator of transcription) family of transcription factors that relay signals from cytokine receptors to the nucleus via the JAK-STAT pathway. There is no widely recognized protein known as STAT1STAT6; the combined term may be used informally to discuss co-regulation, potential heterodimerization, or hypothetical fusion concepts.
