SS4

SS4 refers to the fourth stage of Super Saiyan transformation in the Dragon Ball franchise. This powerful state is achieved by Saiyans who have mastered the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 forms, and can also access the Super Saiyan 3 transformation. The key requirement for achieving SSJ4 is that the Saiyan must have reached their Oozaru (Great Ape) form during their childhood and regained their consciousness in that state.

Physically, SSJ4 is characterized by a dramatic change in appearance. The Saiyan's hair typically turns black and grows longer, though not to the extent of Super Saiyan 3. Their body is covered in red fur, and they gain a red tail. A dark red band often appears around their upper arms and chest. In terms of power, SSJ4 significantly surpasses Super Saiyan 3, offering a massive boost in strength, speed, and energy projection. This form debuted in the Dragon Ball GT anime series and is considered a pinnacle of Saiyan power within that continuity. While not appearing in the primary Dragon Ball Z manga, it has since been referenced and appeared in various related media, including video games and promotional material. The transformation requires immense ki control and emotional stability to maintain.
