SMDtyyppejä, a Finnish term, translates to "SMD types" or "types of surface-mount devices." Surface-mount technology (SMT) refers to electronic components that are mounted directly onto the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB). Unlike through-hole components, which have leads that pass through holes in the PCB, SMT components are designed to be soldered to pads on the surface. This method allows for smaller, more densely packed electronic circuits, as well as automated assembly processes, leading to reduced manufacturing costs and improved performance.
