Criteria and process

Artifacts receive the SIaccepted tag only after meeting predefined criteria, typically including: conformance to supported formats and schemas; cryptographic integrity verification (hashes or checksums); complete provenance and versioning metadata; security checks and vulnerability disclosures; and accessible documentation and licensing. Submissions undergo automated validation and, when applicable, human review. Approved items are annotated with the SIaccepted designation and recorded in a central metadata store, with details on checks performed, validators, and timestamps.

Impact and limitations
