SIGDAT stands for Special Interest Group on Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, an ACM Special Interest Group. It focuses on data mining and knowledge discovery in databases, as well as related areas such as machine learning, information retrieval, text mining, and data science. The group serves as a forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to exchange ideas, develop standards, and advance the field.

Founded during the expansion of data mining in the 1990s, SIGDAT operates under the Association for Computing

The group organizes and co-sponsors events and forums that bring together researchers from academia and industry.

Through these activities, SIGDAT aims to foster collaboration, advance research, and promote the application of data
