Sätesregioner, sometimes translated as "seat regions" or "buttock regions," is a term used in some anatomical and medical contexts to describe the anatomical area of the buttocks. This region is primarily composed of adipose tissue, connective tissue, and the gluteal muscles, including the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. The sätesregion plays a significant role in posture, locomotion, and providing cushioning for the pelvis when sitting.

The anatomical boundaries of the sätesregion are generally defined by the iliac crest superiorly, the gluteal folds inferiorly, and the lateral aspects of the thighs. The skin covering this region is relatively thick and can be subject to various dermatological conditions.

In clinical practice, the sätesregion is relevant for several reasons. It is a common site for intramuscular injections due to the large muscle mass available. However, care must be taken to avoid the sciatic nerve, which runs through this area.
