Rückstausicherung
Rückstausicherung refers to a device or system installed in a building's drainage system to prevent sewage or wastewater from backing up into the building from the public sewer during periods of heavy rainfall or sewer blockages. This phenomenon is known as a sewer backup or Rückstau. The Rückstausicherung works by automatically closing off the connection to the public sewer when it detects an upward flow of wastewater, thus protecting the building's interior from contamination and damage.
