Rückstausicherungen
Rückstausicherungen, also known as backwater valves or backflow preventers, are devices installed in drainage systems to prevent sewage and wastewater from flowing back into a building or property during periods of heavy rainfall or overloaded sewer lines. These situations, known as a backflow event, can occur when the external sewer system cannot handle the volume of water, causing pressure to build up and force wastewater in the reverse direction.
