When we engage in group-based attribution, we often simplify our understanding of the social world by categorizing individuals into groups and then applying generalized beliefs about those groups to the individuals within them. This cognitive shortcut can lead to inaccurate perceptions and unfair judgments. For example, assuming all members of a certain nationality are hardworking or that all individuals of a particular gender are emotional.
