Rundstangen

Rundstangen are cylindrical metal bars produced as semi-finished stock for mechanical and industrial use. They have a circular cross-section and are intended for further processing such as turning, milling or drilling to manufacture components.

Heat treatment and surface finishing may be applied to achieve required mechanical properties and tolerances. Packaging and storage should protect against corrosion and contamination, particularly for unplated steel and reactive alloys.

Applications of Rundstangen span diverse industries. They serve as raw stock for shafts, pins, bushings, sleeves and other machine elements, as well as structural components in automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering and toolmaking. They are typically supplied by steel mills and distributors in standard grades defined by national and international standards (DIN, EN, ISO, ASTM).
