Rullestolrugby

Rullestolrugby, also known as wheelchair rugby, is a dynamic and physically demanding team sport specifically designed for athletes with significant impairments in at least three of their four limbs. It is played by mixed-gender teams and is a full-contact sport, differing from many other wheelchair sports in this regard.

The game is played on a basketball court with a standard-sized basketball and goals at each end. Players propel themselves around the court in specialized, rugged wheelchairs, which are also used offensively and defensively to block opponents and gain possession of the ball. The objective is to score by crossing the opponent's goal line with the ball.

Players are classified based on their functional level of impairment to ensure fair competition. The sport requires immense strength, strategy, and teamwork. Rullestolrugby made its debut as a medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games and has since grown in popularity worldwide, with international competitions and a dedicated global community of athletes and fans. The International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) governs the sport internationally.
