Rullalautat

Rullalautat, often referred to as skateboards, are a type of toy or sporting equipment consisting of a short board mounted on a pair of wheels. The board itself is typically made of wood, though materials like plastic or aluminum are also used. Underneath the board are two trucks, which are metal components that attach the wheels to the board and allow for steering. The wheels are usually made of polyurethane.

Skateboarding emerged in the United States in the late 1940s and early 1950s as a way for surfers to "surf" on land when the waves were flat. Vert skateboarding takes place on large ramps, where riders perform aerial tricks. Street skateboarding mimics surfing by using urban obstacles like stairs, rails, and ledges. Competitive skateboarding is a recognized sport with professional tours and championships. The culture surrounding skateboarding is extensive, encompassing fashion, music, and art.
