Ruganyushing

Ruganyushing is a term that emerged from online gaming communities, particularly within MMORPGs. It describes a playstyle where a player, often a tank or a character designed to absorb damage, deliberately pulls a large number of enemies or "mobs" simultaneously. The objective is to aggro as many hostile NPCs as possible and then kite them, or lead them around the game environment, while allies attack them or the tank strategically positions them for area-of-effect damage. This technique requires precise movement, crowd control abilities, and coordinated efforts from the rest of the player group.

The term itself is a portmanteau, combining "rug" (referring to the idea of dragging enemies like a rug) and "rushing" (indicating the aggressive and rapid nature of the pull). Ruganyushing is often employed in dungeons or raids to speed up progression and maximize efficiency, allowing the group to clear content faster than by engaging enemies in smaller groups. However, it carries significant risk; if the tank loses control of the enemies or takes too much damage, it can lead to a wipe, where the entire group is defeated. Successful ruganyushing demonstrates a high level of player skill and group coordination.
