Roolestaan is a fictional republic set in the eastern portion of the imagined continent of Nyria. It covers about 120,000 square kilometers and has a population of around 7 million. The capital and largest city is Velora. The official language is Roole, with English widely used in administration and business.

Geography and climate are diverse, featuring a coastal plain along the eastern sea, a central highland region, and fertile river valleys. The climate ranges from humid subtropical along the coast to temperate in the highlands, supporting a variety of ecosystems.

History of Roolestaan traces human settlement to ancient times, followed by the emergence of regional kingdoms in the medieval era. The territory came under colonial administration in the 19th century and achieved independence in 1954. A republican constitution was adopted in 1999, replacing an earlier constitutional framework.

Politics and government follow a unitary parliamentary system. The president serves as head of state, while the prime minister leads government affairs. The unicameral National Assembly consists of 120 members elected for four-year terms, with a multiparty system that often forms coalition administrations.

Economy is diversified, with agriculture (including rice, maize, and fruits), light manufacturing, and a growing services sector that covers finance, commerce, and tourism. Key attractions include the River Gorge National Park and Velora’s historic Old Quarter. The country emphasizes renewable energy, particularly solar and wind, and has pursued regional energy integration initiatives.

Demographics and culture reflect ethnic diversity and a tradition of craft, music, and community festivals. National celebrations commonly highlight the River Festival and Harvest Month. Education is compulsory from ages 6 to 16, and literacy rates are high.
