Rohrmaterial refers to the materials used to manufacture pipes and tubes that convey liquids, gases, slurries, or steam. The choice of material affects the pipe’s strength, durability, resistance to corrosion, and its ability to withstand operating temperatures and pressures. Common applications vary by material. PVC and ductile iron are widely used for water distribution; steel and stainless steel serve oil, gas, and high-temperature systems; copper and copper alloys are common for domestic plumbing and heat exchangers; PE and PP are favored in chemical and sewer piping; FRP is chosen for highly corrosive environments.
