Rockerkytkimet, also known as paddle switches, are a type of electrical switch that is operated by a pivoting lever. The lever is typically made of plastic and has a rounded or flattened shape, resembling a rocker on a seesaw. When the lever is pressed down on one side, it causes the internal contacts of the switch to open or close an electrical circuit. The opposite side of the lever will then move upwards. This simple mechanism allows for easy and intuitive operation.

Rocker switches are commonly found in a wide variety of applications, from household appliances like lamps and power strips to automotive controls and industrial machinery. Their popularity stems from their durability, ease of use, and relatively low cost. They can be designed to function as momentary switches, where the circuit is only affected as long as the lever is held in position, or as maintained switches, where the circuit remains in its current state until the lever is actuated again.

The design of rocker switches allows for various configurations, including single-pole, single-throw (SPST) for basic on/off functionality, and more complex arrangements like double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) for switching between multiple circuits.
