Robotanlegg

Robotanlegg refers to automated systems that employ industrial robots to perform tasks in manufacturing, logistics, and process industries. A robotanlegg typically combines one or more robotic arms with end effectors, a robot controller, power and drive units, sensors, and a control layer such as PLCs or a manufacturing execution system (MES). The installation may include material handling devices like conveyors, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) or autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), as well as vision systems and safety equipment. The goal is to increase throughput, consistency, and safety by taking over repetitive, dangerous, or precision tasks.

Robotanlegg can range from a single robot cell to full production lines with multiple robots working in sequence or in parallel. A growing subset are collaborative robots (cobots) designed to operate alongside humans with built-in safety features and easier programming.

Applications include welding, painting, pick-and-place, packaging, palletizing, machining, inspection, and laboratory automation. Design considerations include task feasibility, required payload, reach, accuracy, cycle time, and return on investment. Safety is central and governed by standards such as ISO 10218 for industrial robots and ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative robots, with risk assessment and protective measures (fencing, interlocks, light curtains, emergency stops).
