Riskipõhised

Riskipõhised is an Estonian term that translates to "risk-based" in English. It refers to an approach or methodology that prioritizes actions, decisions, or resource allocation based on the level of risk involved. This concept is widely applied across various fields, including finance, project management, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

In a risk-based approach, organizations or individuals first identify potential risks, assess their likelihood and potential impact, and then develop strategies to manage them. This typically involves focusing efforts and resources on the areas where the risks are highest or where the consequences of those risks materializing would be most severe. The goal is to optimize the use of resources by concentrating on what matters most from a risk perspective.

For example, in financial risk management, a risk-based approach might involve allocating more capital to cover potentially volatile assets or implementing stricter controls on transactions with a higher chance of fraud. In cybersecurity, it means prioritizing the patching of vulnerabilities that are most likely to be exploited or have the greatest potential for damage. Similarly, in project management, risk-based planning involves identifying critical project risks and developing mitigation plans for them. This contrasts with a purely compliance-driven or static approach, allowing for more dynamic and efficient management of uncertainties.
