Rikkihappoliuoksessa, also known as "acid rain," is a form of precipitation that contains higher-than-normal amounts of nitric and sulfuric acids. These acids are formed when certain pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), react with water vapor in the atmosphere. The primary sources of these pollutants are industrial activities, power plants, and vehicles that burn fossil fuels.

Acid rain can have significant environmental impacts. It can acidify bodies of water, making them unsuitable for aquatic life. It can also damage forests and agricultural lands by leaching essential nutrients from the soil and damaging plant tissues. Additionally, acid rain can corrode buildings, monuments, and infrastructure made of materials like limestone and marble.

The pH of acid rain is typically below 5.6, while normal rainwater has a pH around 5.6. The acidity of rainwater is measured using the pH scale, where lower values indicate higher acidity. Acid rain can be particularly problematic in areas with high levels of industrial activity or dense populations.

Efforts to reduce acid rain include implementing stricter emission controls on industrial facilities and vehicles, promoting the use of cleaner energy sources, and preserving natural areas that can act as buffers against acid rain. International agreements, such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution, aim to reduce acid rain by limiting the emission of pollutants that contribute to its formation.
