Rhesusaffen, also known by their scientific name Macaca mulatta, are a species of Old World monkey native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. They are one of the most widely distributed non-human primate species. Rhesusaffen are medium-sized monkeys, typically weighing between 5 and 10 kilograms and measuring about 40 to 60 centimeters in body length, with tails adding another 20 to 30 centimeters.
