Resourcelimited is an adjective used to describe a state in which the growth, performance, or dynamics of a system are constrained by the availability of essential resources such as energy, nutrients, water, materials, or information. The concept is applied across disciplines to explain why increasing demand or effort does not translate into proportional improvement when resources are scarce.

In ecology and biology, resource limitation often governs population growth.
