Resonanssitoiminta is a Finnish term that translates to "resonant operation" or "resonance phenomena" in English. It refers to the tendency of a system to oscillate with greater amplitude when subjected to an external force at a frequency close to its natural frequency. This phenomenon is fundamental in many areas of physics and engineering.

In mechanical systems, resonance can be observed in structures like bridges, where wind or traffic vibrations can induce dangerous oscillations if they match the bridge's natural frequency.
