Repertuaarist

Repertuaarist is the Estonian elative form of the noun repertuaar (repertoire). It literally means “from the repertoire” and is used to refer to items that belong to or are drawn from a person’s or group’s body of known works. In performing arts, the term describes the collection of pieces that a performer regularly uses or has in reserve, or the subset selected for a particular performance.

In practice, repertuaarist is most common in music, theatre, and dance contexts. For example, kontserdil esitatakse repertuaarist valitud palasid (the concert features pieces selected from the repertoire). Esineja lisas repertuaarist kaks uut teost kavasse (the performer added two new works from the repertoire to the program). The phrase can also characterize the overall repertoire known to a company, ensemble, or genre.
