Relációként

Relációként is a Hungarian adverbial form derived from the noun reláció, meaning relation. It is commonly used in mathematical and logical texts to indicate that something is being considered, defined, or analyzed as a relation between elements. The phrase signals a relational interpretation rather than, for example, a function or a set in isolation.

In mathematics, a binary relation R between sets A and B (often A = B) is a subset of the Cartesian product A × B. When a statement or construction is described relációként, it is framed in terms of such pairs. For instance, the relation "a is less than or equal to b" on the natural numbers can be written as R = { (a, b) ∈ N × N | a ≤ b }; treating R relációként means studying its properties (reflexivity, symmetry, transitivity), its graph, or the induced order structure, rather than as a function from N to N.

Beyond pure set theory, the phrase is common in logic and theoretical computer science, where binary relations can represent program predicates, accessibility relations in modal logic, or data relations in databases (as tables viewed as relations).
