Redownloadable describes digital content that can be downloaded more than once after purchase. This property is common in digital goods such as software, video games, e-books, music, videos, firmware updates, fonts, and design assets. A redownloadable item is usually tied to a purchaser’s account and a license or entitlement that remains valid after the initial download.

How it works: Purchasers access a platform's library or order history and can initiate a new download of the same file or package. Some vendors guarantee unlimited re-downloads, while others limit access to a certain period, or require re-authentication. In many ecosystems, redownloads are facilitated by persistent accounts and download servers rather than physical media.
