Rasteridatassa

Rasteridatassa is a tunicate species belonging to the family Asciidae. It is a marine phylum, specifically multicellular marine animals that belong to the subkingdom Echinodermata.

These organisms are characterized as simple multicellular animals with distinct tissue layers. They are filter feeders that use the surrounding water for nutrient acquisition. Some species within the same phylum or genus may have distinctive colors or other unique characteristics, however Rasteridatassa specifically is less documented in literature.

Tunicates are often found inhabiting shallow coastal waters as well as estuaries; they are widely distributed worldwide. These organisms range in size, from the minuscule to the easily distinguishable.

Although little known, Rasteridatassa, as a type of tunicate, obtain their essential nutrients from sea water which primarily consists of salt water. The nutrients are filtered out by siphons of their body position much like other members of their phylum.
