Rahastuskriisi

Rahastuskriisi, often translated as a funding crisis or liquidity crisis, refers to a situation where individuals, companies, or even governments face severe difficulties in obtaining the necessary funds or credit to meet their financial obligations. This can manifest in various ways, such as a drying up of lending from banks, a sudden sharp increase in borrowing costs, or an inability to access capital markets.

These crises can be triggered by a multitude of factors. Economic downturns, for instance, can lead lenders to become more risk-averse, reducing the availability of credit. Conversely, periods of excessive speculation and asset bubbles can inflate debt levels, making the system vulnerable to sudden shocks.
