Radialzentrifugalventilatoren, commonly known as centrifugal fans, are a type of industrial fan that uses a rotating impeller to move air. The impeller consists of a series of blades that draw air in from the center (the eye) and accelerate it outwards radially. The air is then discharged tangentially from the fan housing. This design allows centrifugal fans to generate higher pressures than axial fans of comparable size, making them suitable for applications where air needs to be pushed through resistance, such as ductwork or filters.

The performance of a centrifugal fan is determined by factors like the impeller design, rotational speed, and housing shape.
