Rabaçal

Rabaçal is a popular tourist destination located in the Paul da Serra plateau on the island of Madeira, Portugal. It is a natural reserve known for its lush green landscapes and a network of levadas, which are irrigation channels that have been transformed into walking trails. The area is characterized by its abundant water sources, which feed numerous waterfalls and streams, creating a unique microclimate that supports a rich biodiversity.

The starting point for the levada walks is typically a small house, the Casa do Rabaçal, which also serves as a visitor information point. The area is part of the Laurisilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
