Raavad
Raavad is the standard acronym for Rabbi Avraham ben David of Posquières, a medieval Provençal Talmudic authority active in the late 12th century. He is best known for his critical glosses on Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah, in which he raises questions, offers alternate readings, and cites earlier authorities to challenge Rambam’s rulings.
