RTDPT100

RTDPT100 is a type of resistance temperature detector (RTD) with a nominal resistance of 100 ohms at 0 degrees Celsius. RTDs are sensors used to measure temperature by correlating the resistance of a metal with temperature changes, offering high accuracy and stability.

The RTDPT100 typically consists of a thin wire or film of pure platinum, chosen for its excellent stability, repeatability, and linear resistance-temperature relationship. The sensor is often encapsulated within a protective sheath, which may be made of ceramic, glass, or plastic, to safeguard against environmental factors. The PT100 is widely used in industrial, scientific, and HVAC applications for precise temperature monitoring and control.

Characteristic features of the RTDPT100 include a resistance of exactly 100 ohms at 0°C, with a standard temperature coefficient of approximately 0.00385 ohms per ohm per degree Celsius. This linear response facilitates accurate temperature measurement across a broad range, generally from -200°C to +850°C, depending on the design.

The device is typically connected via three or four wires to minimize lead resistance errors, ensuring higher measurement accuracy. RTDPT100 sensors are often integrated into data acquisition systems, process control, and calibration setups.
