Qualitätspolitik

Qualitätspolitik is a formal statement issued by the top management of an organization that expresses its overall intentions and direction regarding quality. It articulates a commitment to meet customer and regulatory requirements, to strive for continual improvement, and to enhance customer satisfaction. It serves as the framework for setting quality objectives and for aligning processes and resources.

Typically, a quality policy includes a clear declaration of the organization's aim to satisfy customers, comply with applicable requirements, and continuously improve the effectiveness of the quality management system. It may specify responsibilities, a commitment to providing sufficient resources, and a focus on people, process, and product quality. It should be appropriate to the context, documented, communicated, and understood throughout the organization.

Development and deployment: The policy should be documented, communicated, understood, and maintained across the organization. Top management is responsible for its adequacy, relevance, and effectiveness, providing leadership and allocating resources. It is used to guide planning, operation, performance measurement, and management review.

Relationship to QMS and standards: The quality policy is a core element of a Quality Management System and is aligned with the organization's strategy. In standards such as ISO 9001, it is a mandatory requirement and should be reviewed periodically, updated as needed, and made available to interested parties.

Review and improvement: The policy is reviewed at planned intervals or when the context changes, to ensure ongoing suitability and relevance. It is typically linked to measurable objectives and key performance indicators to monitor progress and drive improvements.
