QSPRmodellek is a Hungarian term that translates to QSPR models. QSPR stands for Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship. These models are a class of mathematical and statistical tools used to predict the physical, chemical, and biological properties of a substance based on its molecular structure. The fundamental principle is that the structure of a molecule dictates its properties. QSPR models aim to establish a mathematical correlation between structural descriptors of a molecule and its observed properties.

Structural descriptors can include a wide range of features, such as molecular size, shape, polarity, electronic distribution, and the presence or absence of specific functional groups. These descriptors are often derived using computational chemistry software. Once a set of descriptors is generated for a training set of compounds with known properties, various statistical techniques, including linear regression, neural networks, and support vector machines, are employed to build a predictive model.

The developed QSPR model can then be used to predict the properties of new, untested compounds. This is particularly valuable in drug discovery and materials science, where it can accelerate the screening process, reduce the need for extensive experimental testing, and guide the design of molecules with desired characteristics.
