Mechanism: Pölynerotus arises from the combination of gentle directional airflow, humidity gradients, and electrostatic charging of particles. A thin liquid meniscus can form on hydrophilic surfaces, facilitating capillary bridges between particles and the substrate. As the humidity fluctuates, particles migrate and reorganize into quasi-periodic layers, often with vertical or radial symmetry dependent on surface texture and boundary conditions.
