Puupalletti

Puupalletti, also known as a wooden pallet, is a flat transport structure that supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, a pallet jack, or other jacking device, or by an overhead crane. Puupalletti are commonly used in various industries for storage and transportation of materials and products. They are typically made from wood, but can also be constructed from plastic, metal, or other materials.

The design of puupalletti allows for easy handling and transportation of goods. They usually have a base deck and top deck, with bearers in between to provide structural support. The spaces between the bearers allow for forklift tines or pallet jack wheels to be inserted, enabling the pallet to be lifted and moved. Puupalletti come in various sizes and load capacities, with the most common size being the 48x40 inch (122x102 cm) pallet.

Puupalletti are widely used due to their durability, cost-effectiveness, and reusability. They can be used multiple times, reducing the need for single-use packaging materials. Additionally, wooden pallets are often preferred because they are strong, lightweight, and can be easily repaired or recycled. However, they also have some drawbacks, such as being susceptible to damage from moisture, pests, and temperature changes.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in sustainable and eco-friendly puupalletti. This has led to the development of pallets made from recycled materials or sustainably sourced wood. Some companies also offer pallet pooling or pallet rental services, where pallets are shared and reused among different businesses, further reducing waste and environmental impact. Despite these advancements, traditional wooden pallets remain the most commonly used type of puupalletti in many industries.
