Puulõike
Puulõike is an Estonian term referring to a type of woodcut print. Historically, woodcuts were among the earliest and most common forms of artistic printmaking. The process involves carving an image into the surface of a wooden block, leaving the printing areas raised while the non-printing areas are cut away. Ink is then applied to the raised surface, and the block is pressed onto paper or fabric to transfer the image.
In Estonia, woodcuts have a long tradition, often reflecting folk art motifs, religious themes, and social commentary.
While digital art and other printmaking techniques have become more prevalent, puulõike continues to be practiced
