Puskukoneita

Puskukoneita, often translated as bulldozers or earthmovers, are powerful heavy-duty machines equipped with a substantial metal plate, known as a blade, used for pushing large quantities of soil, sand, snow, rubble, or other such material during construction or conversion work. They are commonly found on construction sites, road building projects, and in quarries.

The primary function of a puskukone is to move earth. The blade can be adjusted in height, angle, and pitch to control the depth and direction of the material being pushed. This versatility makes them indispensable for tasks such as clearing land, creating roads, excavating foundations, and leveling ground. Some models also feature a rear ripper, which is a claw-like appendage used to break up compacted soil or rock, making it easier for the blade to move.

Puskukoneita are typically powered by diesel engines, providing the high torque and horsepower necessary for their demanding work. They operate on tracks rather than wheels, which distribute their weight over a larger area. This track system offers superior traction and stability on uneven or soft terrain, preventing the machine from sinking and allowing it to exert maximum force. The operator controls the machine from a cabin, which often offers excellent visibility of the work area. Various attachments can be fitted to puskukoneita, further expanding their capabilities.
