Puristusjännity

Puristusjännity, often translated as compressive stress, is a fundamental concept in mechanics and materials science. It describes the internal forces that resist a material's tendency to be compressed or shortened when subjected to external forces pushing inwards. Imagine squeezing a sponge; the sponge resists this compression through its internal structure, and this resistance is what puristusjännity represents.
