Pumba

Pumbaa is a fictional character in Disney's The Lion King franchise. He is a large, friendly warthog who travels the savannah with his best friend Timon, a meerkat. The two form the comic duo that promotes the philosophy of Hakuna Matata, a Swahili phrase meaning "no worries," which teaches Simba to enjoy life rather than dwell on his past.

In the original 1994 animated film, Pumbaa is voiced by Ernie Sabella. He appears early in the story, shelters Simba during his exile, shares meals, and provides melodic comic relief with Timon. Though simple-minded at times, Pumbaa is loyal and compassionate, and his bond with Timon helps guide Simba toward his destiny.
