Pullsüsteeme

Pullsüsteeme, also known as pulley systems, are mechanical devices that use one or more grooved wheels, called pulleys, to change the direction of a force or to gain a mechanical advantage. They are fundamental components in many machines and are used to lift heavy objects, adjust tension, or change the direction of movement.

The basic principle behind a pulley system is that it distributes the load over multiple rope segments. A single fixed pulley only changes the direction of the applied force, making it easier to lift an object by allowing you to pull downwards instead of upwards. However, it doesn't reduce the amount of force needed.

Movable pulleys, on the other hand, are attached to the load and move with it. When combined with a fixed pulley in a system, a movable pulley can provide a mechanical advantage. This means that less force is required to lift the object, though the distance over which the force must be applied increases proportionally. The more pulleys included in a system, the greater the potential mechanical advantage.

Compound pulley systems combine both fixed and movable pulleys to achieve significant force multiplication. The amount of mechanical advantage in a pulley system is theoretically equal to the number of rope segments supporting the movable pulleys. In practice, friction within the pulleys and the weight of the rope can reduce the actual mechanical advantage.
