Ptychopariid
Ptychopariid is an extinct family of trilobites belonging to the order Proparia. These marine arthropods lived during the Cambrian period, with fossil evidence primarily found in North America and Asia. Ptychopariids are characterized by a distinctive pygidium, the posterior section of the trilobite exoskeleton, which is often wider than it is long and exhibits a series of transverse furrows. Their cephalon, or head shield, typically has a prominent glabella, the central raised lobe, and a relatively short facial suture.
