Provningsrapporter

Provningsrapport, or test report, is a formal document that records the results of tests performed on a material, component, product, or system to verify properties, performance, or safety. In Swedish industry, provningsrapporter are commonly used in construction, manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance to demonstrate that requirements in contracts or standards have been met. They are issued by an accredited laboratory, either independent or in-house.

A provningsrapport identifies the tested item, batch or serial number, and applied test methods; describes test conditions; presents data and calculated results; notes measurement uncertainties; and states conformity to limits, conclusions, deviations, and recommendations. It also includes references to standards, involved personnel, equipment, and calibration traceability.

The document is produced by a laboratory or QA team after sample receipt, testing, data review, and formal issuance. It is controlled and versioned to preserve integrity and may bear accreditation marks or seals.

Provningsrapporter support product acceptance, regulatory compliance, warranties, and quality management. They are typically used with certificates of conformity or material test certificates and rely on traceability to defined standards and calibration records. In many sectors, laboratories operate under quality systems such as ISO/IEC 17025 to ensure reliability.
