Protsessorite

Protsessorite is a fictional mineral species commonly used in geology education and science fiction. It is not recognized by the International Mineralogical Association or any peer-reviewed mineral database.

In typical fictional descriptions, protsessorite is described as a translucent mineral with a vitreous to silky luster, usually blue-green in color. Reported hardness ranges around 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, and the crystal system is often depicted as monoclinic. The hypothetical chemical composition is described variously as a silicate containing aluminum and calcium, sometimes with trace rare-earth elements, but there is no standardized formula.

Occurrence and formation in fiction and teaching examples place protsessorite in hydrothermal veins associated with granitic intrusions and in metamorphic zones, though no natural specimens exist. Its described stability and alteration pathways are likewise variable across different texts, reflecting its status as a teaching tool rather than a discovered mineral.
